Day 5 - Ely to Brandon

21 miles. After an overnight stay in Ely, including an excellent evening meal at The Boathouse, we were ready to set off bright-and-early.
Initially a very pleasant stroll through Ely and out into the surrounding countryside, but after Prickwillow, a long old tramp along roads, some with a lot of traffic, was not very enjoyable. Eventually, at Shippea Hill Station, we picked up a track-side path, bringing great relief (to both feet and brain).
Once we reached the River Little Ouse at Botany Bay things improved dramatically - lovely pastoral views until we reached Lakenheath Station, then quiet hedge-lined tracks, where we saw deer and a Barn Owl, all the way into Brandon.
