Initially following the estuary and saltmarsh around to Sandside, we then headed uphill through woodland to the Fairy Steps. Continuing through Underlaid Wood we passed Hazelslack Tower before following the rilway line to Middlebarrow Wood and Arnside Tower. Skirting Arnside Knot we returned to Arnside for a quick browse of the shops and a much-appreciated ice cream.
